Access World USA attends BreakBulk Americas

Breakbulk Americas is a conference geared towards providing new project opportunities worldwide. This year was the 29th running of the event hosted in Houston. It was a huge success, with more than 4,700 industry professionals in attendance. Representatives from all aspects of the shipping industry took the chance to connect with leading executives and suppliers across the market. Access World USA, not only attended and exhibited at the event but we were also one of the listed sponsors. Over the course of the conference, we were able to meet up with a few longtime friends and introduce ourselves to new faces. In fact, the platform was the ideal space to share the news of our expanding logistics operations in Baltimore.

Boasting our Baltimore logistics operations

Our new terminal in Baltimore is a fantastic development for our logistics operations in America. The terminal sits within the Sparrows Point Shipyard, a 150-acre industrial complex. Within the yard, we operate the pier and a 100,000 square foot covered warehouse, along with five acres of space. Together with our location half a mile away, fifteen acres and an 800,000 ft² facility, we’re able to offer 900,000 ft² of undercover warehouse space. Across these facilities, we handle all types of products – bulk, breakbulk and heavy lift project cargos alike. Our Baltimore facilities also offer extra value-added services – crushing and packing.

Tradepoint Atlantic purchased the shipyard earlier this year. A move which has reunited the shipyard with the steel mill. Over 100 years old, they were once both owned by Bethlehem Steel, formerly one of the largest steel mills in the world. Now, Tradepoint Atlantic has plans to transform the area into a thriving industrial complex. A venture we’re delighted to be part of.
