Commercial Manager – Battery Materials

We are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), and we provide warehousing and associated logistics and value-added service to traders, producers, financiers and consumers of non-ferrous and ferrous metals, ferroalloys and minor metals etc. Our worldwide offices and operations span across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & Middle East, and US. Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations.
Department: Commercial, Non-Ferrous Metals
Reports to: Deputy Commercial Head, Non-Ferrous Metals, GCA
Purposes of the position:
- A highly motivated individual with the relevant skill sets, capable of establishing new accounts and develop the battery materials business including Nickel, Cobalt & Lithium etc.
- Manage and meet targeted growth for the battery material, including Nickel, Cobalt & Lithium
Responsibilities:
- Establishing new battery materials sales strategies, developing new battery materials opportunities, building and maintaining client relationship Formulate 6-12 months sales action plan in line with group direction
- Meet and achieve battery materials, mainly Nickel, Cobalt & Lithium sales target KPI and budget
- Weekly/monthly commercial reporting to direct Manager on all sales and business development
- Hunting for new battery materials sales in China
- Participate in global and local tenders
- Communicate, share and collaborate with all overseas Access World branches on leads generated to and from any locations
- Strong team player whilst liaising and coordinating with clients, vendors and internal operational team members
- Ensure compliance to Access World Group Policies
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
- To achieve and complete annual revenue/GP target
- Ensure customer database is updated and all sales related reports/plans/Monday system are completed in a timely manner

Specific requirements for the position:
- Diploma or degree in business administration, logistics or a related field
- More than 5 years relevant experience with a track record in sales and business development in the battery materials industry. Including lithium, nickel, cobalt
- Existing business pipelines and connections will be a plus
- Existing network within the battery materials industry, producers, traders, consumers, freight forwarders
- Existing knowledge of battery materials markets and different products involved
- Result oriented with strong ability to prioritize tasks in order to achieve assigned sales targets
- Resourceful with excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair are critical to the success of this role
- An accomplished self-starter who is able to hands-on/lead the whole cycle of commercial process from acquisition to fulfilment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and fast paced working environment
- Flexible in working with partners from different time zones when required
- Good influencing skills with a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Fluent in Chinese, fluency in English is a plus
