Access World is a global commodities warehousing and logistics business. We specialize in the handling, storage and movement of commodities and finished products. Materials we are responsible for include non-ferrous and ferrous metals, ferroalloys, project cargo, oil & gas and agricultural products. We are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange, and we provide LME warehousing and associated services to traders, producers, financiers and consumers of base metals. In addition, we provide physical warehouse and related logistics services, including freight forwarding, customs clearance and transport management.

Our worldwide offices and operations span across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & Middle East, and US. Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations.

Location: Houston or Peru

Purposes of the position:

Management of the financial and management reporting function to meet the information requirements of Access World Group and its stakeholders. Custody of the process to deliver accurate, timeous and relevant financial information for all entities in the USA. Be part of USA management team, act as business partner and trusted advisor to General Manager and Department Heads, with the principal objective of optimising profitability and improving data analytics for decision making.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial and management reports.
  • Lead the local or regional finance teams and oversee their daily operations; work closely with finance teams across the Americas region, and with the group finance function.
  • Review, enhance, streamline and monitor finance workflows and processes to drive reporting improvements, achieve efficiencies and enhance decision making ability.
  • Design, manage and monitor internal financial controls within the Group framework to ensure financial information is accurate and complete, and that risk of fraud, misstatement and error is mitigated.
  • Ensure effective cash management and treasury functions are in place.
  • Prepare the annual budget for all USA legal entities and prepare regular forecasting.
  • Produce insightful analysis of results including retrospective interpretation of performance, understanding of business drivers, KPI’s, trend analysis, and predictive forecasting.

As a business finance partner, play an active role to contribute to the strategic planning of the business and provide financial insights and advice to business function teams and General Manager.

  • Manage the external audit process.
  • Liaise with external professionals and government bodies on tax, secretarial and other issues to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance for the region and the Group.
  • Lead, coach and mentor the finance staff, taking responsibility for their development.
  • Reinforce Access World Group culture, values and reputation.
  • Ensure compliance to Access World Group Policies.
  • Travelling within the region is required.

Specific qualifications for the position:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in Finance department of a multinational company.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven managerial experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the IFRS reporting standards and US GAAP.
  • Experience with tax and transfer pricing.
  • Experience of working with Large Scale ERP systems (Oracle– Highly advantageous; SAP; Microsoft Dynamics etc.).
  • Experience of group reporting for a large multinational.
