Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations.

Reports to: Commercial Head, Freight & Project Forwarding
Purposes of the position:
- Head our Project logistics presence within GCA generating new business opportunities through own network as well as leveraging the company’s existing network as well as;
- Supporting other global project teams for projects originating in or destined for GCA
- The ability to plan and execute complex logistics and transportation projects including Heavy Lift projects within GCA and abroad
- A highly motivated individual with the relevant skill sets, capable of establishing and developing client and vendor relationships in GCA, including transporters, route consultants, port operators, carriers etc
Responsibilities:
- Development and Maintenance of the Project Forwarding Vertical within GCA
- Budget Preparations and financial responsibility for the Project Forwarding Business Unit across GCA
- Responsible for the implementation and future strategy sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy verticals within Project Business Unit
- Develop New Network Partners across GCA for strategic locations
- Development of business within GCA to further complement the Growth Strategy
- Develop new customer relations with specific focus sectors and maintain key existing customer relationships as and when allocated
- Support existing Project departments within Africa, Americas, Middle East and Europe in drafting complex project logistics proposals and execution thereof for clients based in GCA
- Devise and implement the Commercial Strategy; identify business opportunities within the industry and convert into revenue
- Responsible for the performance of complex and technical logistics operations for both overseas and in-country projects
- Procurements of transport and ocean freight rates locally and internationally for both import and export cargo
- Develop new markets outside of the current project business within Access World GCA
- Address internal and external operational issues, liaising and coordinating with vendors (ports operators, transporters etc.) and internal clients
- Actively participate as a member of Access World Global Project team and working closely with other business units within GCA and other Access World entities globally
- Communicate and work with all overseas Access World branches on Freight & Project leads
- Monthly reporting in the form of business unit EBIT results
- Reinforce Access World Group culture, values and reputation
- Ensure compliance with Access World Group Policies

Specific requirements for the position:
- Minimum a degree/Diploma from recognized Institute in the logistics field
- Minimum 5-years Projects/HLOOG experience in China
- Excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair is critical to the success of this role
- Strong builder of relationships with interest parties
- Good knowledge of the shipping and logistics management industries specifically focused on:
- Local and Over-border transport of Breakbulk, OOG and heavy lift
- Analytical approach with capabilities of compiling project shipment estimates and load planning
- Proven ability to work on cross-functional and multicultural team
- Strong character, initiative, creative, innovative and analytical skills
- Meticulous, responsible and positive working attitude
- Ability to work independently and in a team
