Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations.
Department: Freight & Project Forwarding
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Purposes of the position
- A highly motivated individual with the relevant skill sets, capable of establishing new accounts and develop the freight forwarding business , focus on Sino-Central America/Latam
- Manage and meet targeted growth for the freight and project forwarding desk
Responsibilities
- Develop new trade lane business (with focus on import business)
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients
- Deliver sales presentations and proposals
- Manage key import accounts and ensure client satisfaction
- Advise clients on export and import procedures, customs, and logistics solutions
- Negotiate rates and prepare competitive quotations
- With a stable customer base and consistent sales volume, can achieve sales targets.
Specific requirements for the position
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, or related field
- 3–5 years’ sales experience in freight forwarding/logistics
- Strong knowledge of international shipping and customs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Fluent in English; other languages, especially Spanish or Portuguese a big plus
- Understanding of at least one of the listed import markets: Africa/ South Africa; LATAM (Chile and Brazil);
- Knowledge of import business from above markets strongly preferred.
- Hunter mentality, sales & results-driven
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Incoterms, ocean/air freight, and customs brokerage
- Understanding of selling integrated import solutions incl. customs clearance, warehousing and distribution
- Existing network of clients (import customers a plus)
