Access World is a global commodity warehousing and logistics business. We specialize in handling, Storage, and processing of commodities including Non-Ferrous and Ferrous metals, Ferro Alloys, Project Cargo, Oil & Gas, and other agricultural products. In addition, we are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange, and we provide LME warehousing and associated services to traders, producers, financiers, and consumers of base metals. In addition, we provide physical warehouse and related logistics services for commodities such as cocoa beans, rubber, cotton, and other agricultural products. Access World also acts as collateral manager of Ferro Alloys, minor metals as well as Oil & Gas. Regions operate in semi-autonomous offices with their corporate functions including commercial, finance HR, legal, and operations.

Purposes of the position:
Reporting into the Stock Manager, responsible and accountable for the handling of key accounts within the stock departments of the Access World Durban facility. The Stock Controller is to ensure that adequate, updated and correct inventory records are to be set up and maintained throughout the facility. All transactions of all inventories housed within the facility are to be properly documented with a sufficient audit trail being present.
Objectives:
- 100% of the cargo is to 100% accounted for 100% of the time.
- Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
- Accurate reporting of client stock within the warehouse.
- Execute inventory control timeously with 100%accuracy.
- Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks.
- All stock confirmation is to happen on a real time basis.
- Participate in coordination between the operations, and Client Controlling team within Access World to ensure that stock requirements and deliverables are achieved.
- Manage all processes relating to stock control, including:
- Validation of all received cargo within 24 hours of receipt.
- Ensuring conformance to daily reports.
- Drafting Packing list on instructions provided.
- Client satisfaction.
- Reporting per shipment on time in time.
- Issuance of holding certificates.
- Continuance of the information flow between the operations and admin teams.
- The stock controller is responsible for ensuring all administrative information is a mirror image of the cargo housed within the metal’s facility and its movement thereof.
- Any person that handles any cargo within the facility is personally accountable and responsible for the stock being handled.
- Ensure that each customer's cargo is handled with the below criteria in mind:
- 100% of the cargo house within the facility is 100% accounted for 100% of the time.
- 100% accuracy of work 100%of the time.
- Conformance to the Access Standard of cargo management.
- Efficient, effective and timeous standards of work.
- Regular updates regarding cargo receipts, stock movement, packing and stock holding with the operations and admin team.
- Effective use of e-mail communications.
- Communicate professionally at all times with all parties.
- Daily stock holding reporting of key accounts.
- Daily stock holding certificates of key accounts.
- Daily reconciliation of stock of key accounts.
- Exception report of key accounts.
- Advise management immediately when agreed procedures cannot be conformed to.
- Monthly reporting on stock movement, stockholding.
- Forward Planning on a regular basis.
- Intimate knowledge of and adherence to all Access World cargo related SOP's.
- Comprehensive knowledge of customer specific cargo.
- The ability to work extended hours dependant on operational demands.
- The ability to fill roles within the stock department.
- Self-motivation to work in isolation as well as having the ability to work within a team environment.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook Express, SAP.
- Proficient in Navis.
- Basic Customs Knowledge (an advantage).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build and maintain strong relationships within Access World.
- Ability to work under pressure and to consistently meet deadlines on a 24 / 7 basis.
- Ability to prioritise and organise work load with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to keep clear and accurate records and generate high quality reports.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the emphasis on pro-active anticipation of challenges with appropriate contingency responses.
- 3 Years proven work experience in relevant field (is an advantage).
- Ability to follow SOP’s and procedures without deviation.
- Minimum Matric.
- Work experience in stock control is required.
- Supply Chain/Logistics qualification advantageous.

Purposes of the position:
To mitigate the risk by ensure the timeous collection of debtors in order to optimize cash flow, reduce outstanding debt to an acceptable level, ensure the company policies and procedures are adhered. To timeously alert management of potential bad debts. Build and maintaining customer relationship.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Align and maintain credit control procedures and policies in terms of best practice.
- Minimise credit exposure by reviewing new and existing customers credit limits and credit terms.
- Prepare monthly / weekly reports.
- Liaise with legal and compliance department for all legal cases pertaining to bad debt.
- Liaise with operations team to ensure customer requirement are met.
- Processing receipts from bank statements.
- Correctly allocate receipts to customer accounts.
- Follow-up on overdue balances.
- Proactive telephonic communication with customers.
- Processing credit notes.
- Preparing cash flow projections.
- Monitoring and following up on customer queries.
- Effective communication with operations Team and managers to resolve issues raised by customers.
- Complete debtor recons and update schedule of accounts.
- Alerting and escalating to management on any issues or concerns pertaining to customer accounts.
- Releasing of credit check failures and monitoring account balances in terms of credit limits.
- Perform KYC procedures on new customers.
- Maintaining debtors’ records and KYC information / E-filing of application documents.
- Liaising with the Insurer for new applications, and reviews on existing credit covers.
- Apply for credit limits with external service provider.
- Preparing debtors reports - weekly internal meetings, group and exec reports, consolidation reports.
- Print and electronically send statements to all debtors.
- Monitoring, Reconciling intercompany customer accounts.
- Processing rental and sundry income invoices.
- Process Monthly Journals.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Monitor and Measure individual and departmental KPI's.
- Advanced knowledge of Debtors process, policies, and procedures.
