Introduction:

Access World South Africa takes pride in its proficiency in handling complex shipments. In a recent project, we successfully managed to clear, handle, discharge & deliver 2 x 206MT transformers Via Saldanh and Coega. Cargo comprised of two units and large loose items successfully delivered to two remote sites, showcasing our expertise in managing abnormal cargo with precision.

Background on the Shipment:

The project involved comprehensive logistics coordination, including port charges, and import clearance into Saldanha and Coega as a two-part split load, Our responsibility extended to using heavy lift cranage, conducting inspections, and subsequently offloading the two transformers from vehicles onto the laydown areas as part of our unitised end to end solutions.

Challenges Faced:

One of the primary challenges faced during this project was ensuring that timelines were met as the project took place over the easter weekend limiting permissible transport movements.
