Access World is a global commodity warehousing and logistics business. We specialize in handling, Storage, and processing of commodities including non-ferrous and ferrous metals, ferroalloys, project cargo, oil & gas, and other agricultural products. We are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange, and we provide LME warehousing and associated services to traders, producers, financiers, and consumers of base metals. In addition, we provide physical warehouse and related logistics services for commodities such as cocoa beans, rubber, cotton, and other agricultural products. Access World also acts as collateral manager of ferroalloys, minor metals as well as oil and gas. Regions operate in semi-autonomous offices with their corporate functions including commercial, finance HR, legal, and operations.

Objetivos del puesto:

• Lead the operational team to deliver safe, efficient and accurate handling, storage and movement of commodities aligned to Access World operational standards.
• Drive execution of daily operational activities to achieve daily productivity targets, operational efficiency and service delivery requirements.
• Position the operational team as a reliable and high performing unit through effective supervision, coordination and adherence to operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Supervision

• Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
• Coordinate Operators, Operations Clerks, and Support staff to meet operational targets.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Monitor stock movement and ensure accurate inventory records in line with company standards.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies to maintain control and accountability.

Operational Planning & Execution

• Plan and allocate daily tasks to optimise workflow and resource utilisation.
• Align operations with schedules and client requirements.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Enforce health and safety standards within the warehouse environment.
• Ensure adherence to operational procedures to minimise risk.

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Report on process improvements to support service excellence.

Performance Management

• Monitor team productivity and report on performance.
• Drive operational efficiency through effective supervision.

People Management

• Lead and develop team members to achieve consistent performance.
• Maintain and update the skills matrix to support workforce planning.

Minimum Requirements:

Certificate in Logistics, Warehousing, or related field (NQF Level 5).

Preferred Qualification:

Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (NQF Level 6).

Experience Required:

• 3 years’ experience in operations within logistics or supply chain environments.
• 2 years’ experience supervising teams within a warehouse environment.

Advantageous Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in inventory control, stock handling, and warehouse systems.
• 2 years’ experience handling commodities (metals, bulk materials, or general cargo).
