Access World Carrasco Inaugurates New Logistics Facilities at the Port of Algeciras.

Access World Carrasco, a joint venture between global logistics leader Access World and the century-old port business Carrasco Family, has officially inaugurated its new warehouse in Algeciras.

This milestone marks the expansion of a long-standing partnership, now solidified through a shared commitment to growth at one of the European Union’s most strategic ports.

The opening ceremony was attended by local authorities, company representatives, and key clients and partners. Strategically located at the Port of Algeciras, the new facility is designed to optimize logistics processes and enhance both storage and distribution capabilities.

Spanning 8,791 m², the site comprises three covered warehouses and an open-air yard. Two warehouses are equipped with seven-level racking systems, while the third provides flexible space for general cargo and features an overhead crane for handling heavy loads. Outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, the facility enables Access World Carrasco to offer faster, more efficient solutions while strengthening global trade connectivity.

During the event, Jeremy Carr, CEO of Access World, stated: “This day reaffirms our confidence in the Port of Algeciras and Spain as key players in the logistics and port storage market.”

Julio Carrasco, President of PJ Carrasco, likened the partnership to “winning the lottery,” emphasizing that the project was made possible through the support of all involved.

Gerardo Landaluce, President of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), described the occasion as one of the year’s “high points,” recognizing the years of effort behind the creation of this world-class logistics facility for the raw materials sector. He also highlighted the project’s role in attracting new business to the Strait of Gibraltar and reiterated the need for a national strategy to maximize Algeciras’ potential.

Finally, Mercedes Colombo, Delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government in Cádiz, noted: “This project is proof of the legal stability and confidence we offer investors, encouraging them to believe in the province of Cádiz and Andalusia.”

With its new presence in Algeciras, Access World Carrasco is reinforcing its leadership in the non-ferrous metals market in the Iberian Peninsula. By blending global reach with local expertise, the company is well-positioned to offer clients seamless, world-class logistics solutions.
